A William Rodgers Knife Company fighting knife with an antique ivory handle. Stamped 'William Rodgers Sheffield England.' William Rodgers is best known for making knives used by the British military during the Second World War. The pommel is designed to depict an alligator horse, a folkloric creature often asssociated with and used as a symbol for Andrew Jackson and the defense of New Orleans. Blade is 9.75 inches, tip to pommel 15.25 inches. Very good, original condition. No international shipping. Know your local laws prior to bidding. De minimis exemption.
